Job description

We are seeking an experienced enterprise applications specialist to join our agile team! In this role you will deploy, administer, and support new and existing enterprise-wide COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) software engineering applications, leveraging containerized solutions (where possible) to optimize deployments and administration across our classified and unclassified environments. You will join a regionally distributed team supporting a range of software configuration management (SWCM) and software build capabilities such as Atlassian Jira/Bitbucket, GITLAB. Azure DevOps Server, and Jenkins. You will also participate in software modernization and cloud adoption efforts, partnering with engineering to migrate off old legacy technologies to new container-based, cloud-hosted GIT-based solutions., * Leverage company best practices and DevSecOps principles to deploy, sustain, and support enterprise-wide shared software engineering applications in on-premise and cloud-based environments. Applications such as GITLAB, Jira, Jenkins, Azure Devops Server, etc

  • Develop and implement enterprise-based solution architectures
  • Configure and maintain the cybersecurity and compliance posture of our hosted solutions
  • Engage with programs and stakeholder groups to plan and support applications deployments
  • Identify, document, and champion best practices and process improvements to optimize operations
  • Work with engineering stakeholders to plan and execute migrations off legacy Software Engineering applications
  • Develop and maintain software application deployment automation and container orchestration scripts and templates using bash, python, and/or other well supported languages
  • Implement and maintain service monitoring scripts and tools to streamline operations and maximize application performance and uptime
  • Assist engineering teams with support of software build/test pipelines and integrations
  • Perform technical troubleshooting and resolve service incidents for applications you support, working with helpdesk teams to develop knowledge base articles for known/common issues
  • Participate in agile/scrum practices for planning and execution of development work
  • Create presentations and demonstrations of our solution architectures, application performance metrics, etc for team members and leadership
  • Work at one of the following locations: McKinney, TX, Richardson, TX, Tewksbury, MA, Andover, MA, Marlborough, MA, or Tucson, AZ locations.

Requirements

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Experience deploying and supporting server-based hosted COTS applications and associated databases in an enterprise environment. Applications such as GITLAB, Jira, Azure Devops Server, Jenkins, etc.
  • Linux system administration experience
  • Experience with troubleshooting commercial server-based application installs, associated databases, networking issues, and Web/HTTP concepts (SSL, certificates, proxy, REST) to resolve application configuration issues

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience deploying and/or administering Jira, GITLAB, and/or Azure Devops Server
  • Experience with containers and orchestration technology (Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu, etc)
  • Experience deploying and/or managing applications in cloud tenants (AWS, Azure)
  • Cybersecurity controls and concepts such as FIPS compliance, SSL/TLS protocols, SELinux,
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery, and data spill remediation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
