Job description
Peraton is seeking a talented Software Developer to join our Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) team. In this pivotal role, you'll design, develop, integrate, and test advanced threat missile and radar simulation models that drive high-fidelity defense simulations. Your work will directly support national security missions by delivering realistic, validated models that enhance mission readiness and operational effectiveness. What You'll Do
- Design and develop high-fidelity threat missile and radar simulation models that accurately replicate real-world systems and behaviors.
- Enhance, maintain, and optimize existing models using advanced modeling and simulation tools to meet Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC) delivery schedules.
- Integrate threat models into the JSE simulation architecture, performing detailed integration and regression testing to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Analyze simulation outputs, validate model performance against empirical data, and refine systems to achieve greater realism and predictive accuracy.
- Leverage technical data packages and intelligence sources to inform model development and support test planning and execution.

Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in C++ or MATLAB/Simulink, with hands-on experience in software development and model implementation.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools such as JIRA, GitLab, or similar collaboration platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to write efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Proven success working on cross-functional teams and communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits & conditions
Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
