Job description

Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Fuel System Design & Release Engineer to be based at our customer's site in Gaydon Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery. Department: Powertrain Engineering - Fuel Systems Role Overview: As a Fuel System Design & Release Engineer, you will be part of the Powertrain Engineering team responsible for the design, validation, and release of fuel and SCR (urea) tank systems. You'll work across multiple vehicle programmes, balancing technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements to deliver robust and innovative fuel system solutions that meet performance, cost, weight, and quality targets. This role is ideal for engineers with strong CAD and system integration skills, looking to grow within a fast-paced, future-focused automotive environment., · Design and release fuel system components including tanks, pumps, lines, valves, and vapor systems · Manage CAD packaging and integration within vehicle architecture using CATIA V5/V6 · Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of designs · Support prototype and production builds, resolving design-related issues · Deliver engineering documentation including DFMEA, DVP&R, and BOM · Ensure compliance with global emissions and evaporative regulations (e.g. WLTP, EPA, CARB) · Participate in design reviews and cross-functional meetings with Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality · Maintain PLM data integrity and support change management processes · Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities

Requirements

· Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Product Design Engineering · 4+ years of experience in powertrain design and release within the automotive sector Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and Teamcenter or equivalent PLM systems · Understanding of fuel system regulations and validation requirements · Strong problem-solving and communication skills · Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams Desirable Attributes · Experience with hybrid or electrified vehicle platforms · Familiarity with SCR systems and alternative fuel technologies · Exposure to CAE tools and simulation workflows
