Job description
The function sits within the Digital Technology team and is responsible for the delivery and support of application solutions to all UK based divisions to successfully enable operational business and operational delivery. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining the full application life cycle and day-to-day operation along with servicing any new business requirements / configuration changes and new standups, utilising industry standard best practice. It will also play a major part in understanding new business requirements, testing and integration other applications to integrate data between application. The successful candidate shall analyse, enhance, develop, install, test and modify enterprise-wide and specialist business applications. It is our policy to implement commercial off the shelf packages and configure the applications to meet business needs however, when necessary, some bespoke tailoring can be used. What you'll be doing: Work with other functional / business teams to deliver business systems to meet functional / business requirements. Works closely with other staff and functional users, ensuring systems or changes are delivered in a timely and effective manner. Works directly with the functional / business user community on bug fixes, request for service and approved changes to current systems and new applications Ensure the ongoing availability of Raytheon systems solutions working toward improved system productivity. Provide system support in response to business needs within published service levels - respond to and resolve break fixes and execute preventative maintenance solutions. Provide out of hours support, as agreed with the functional area (eg. Finance month end) Ensure integrity, availability & security of information and systems Activities include: Business analysis and requirements capture, using an understanding of the business domain and processes Systems analysis, programming and testing Data analysis & design System implementation including training, support, problem resolution Development of documentation for technologists and users Respond and resolve break fixes, and execute preventative maintenance solutions Analyse, design, code, test, implement, document and support development and enhancements to RSL applications and interfaces Monitor Helpdesk and Change Control systems for incoming work Update configuration / change management tools and ensure System Maps reflect any changes to application portfolio Working with vendors to deliver requirements & resolve issues Occasional visits to other RSL sites and customer/partner organisations may be required
Requirements
Educated to degree level or equivalent, plus good SAP R3 and Abap programming experience General knowledge of wide range of IT technologies and activities, with specific knowledge of one or more technology fields. Use of formal systems delivery methodologies. Experience of delivering and supporting business critical application packages within a large organisation. It would be great if you have/are : Knowledge and operational experience in a manufacturing and / or defence industry Add CPS job scheduler (SAP Business Process Automation by Redwood) In depth knowledge of required language(s) / applications / databases / technologies Understanding of IT / Systems Engineering disciplines, including: requirements management, configuration management, change control, reliability analysis and quality management Understanding of basic action planning, tracking, and reporting Appreciation of all aspects of IT Good written and oral communication skills Personal Characteristics Team player - works well in a team Effectively uses the specialist resources and knowledge of team mates to achieve working solutions Logical - analytical thinking Innovative Customer focus Flexibility Disciplined, organised and self motivated Able to manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines
