Job description
As a Systems Engineer, you will develop technical proposals and validate engineering content for aircraft modification programs. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define scope, assess risks, and ensure proposals are accurate, feasible, and aligned with certification and operational requirements. Your work will directly influence project success and help drive advancements in aerospace technology., * Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and catalogs, including engineering hours, timelines, and parts requirements
- Identify affected teams and coordinate with internal and external engineering groups
- Define aircraft starting configurations and system functionality through technical research
- Ensure accuracy of change descriptions and validate modification requirements
- Identify prerequisites and dependencies for incorporating requested changes
- Conduct preliminary risk assessments and support certification classification (major/minor changes)
- Classify proposals according to safety and regulatory requirements
- Analyze project data, schedules, and lessons learned to improve future proposals
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to align proposals with resource capacity
- Communicate project status, risks, and challenges clearly to stakeholders and leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation engineering or maintenance environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams and manage multiple priorities, * Knowledge of one or more aircraft systems (airframe, avionics, powerplant, structures, interiors, or components)
- Experience with commercial aircraft production systems or modification services
- Familiarity with aircraft certification processes and regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting engineering programs within commercial or defense aerospace sectors
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Benefits & conditions
Pay Details: $56.65 per hour
