Job description
The Director of Information Technology is a hands-on technology leader responsible for driving the end-to-end IT strategy and operations of a mid-market CPG company with significant manufacturing operations. This is not a purely strategic role - the right candidate rolls up their sleeves every day, owns the architecture, and drives execution. You will oversee enterprise systems (D365 F&O), infrastructure, cybersecurity, analytics, and a lean IT team supporting a single manufacturing site.
You will report directly to the CFO and serve as the primary technology advisor to the senior leadership team., * D365 Finance & Operations (Primary Focus)Serve as the internal subject matter expert for D365 F&O across finance, supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing modules

Own the D365 roadmap - upgrades, new module rollouts, ISV integrations, and ongoing optimization

Lead D365 integration work in support of tuck-in acquisitions and M&A activity - Day 1 readiness, data migration, and system onboarding

Manage ISV relationships, system integrators, and Microsoft partnership

Oversee EDI trading partner integrations (SPS Commerce, DMEDI, 3PL's)

Infrastructure & ArchitectureDesign and maintain LAN/WAN architecture for the manufacturing plant and supporting facilities

Manage cloud infrastructure (Azure primary), hybrid environments, and on-prem manufacturing systems

Own network reliability, uptime SLAs, and disaster recovery planning

Drive vendor rationalization and infrastructure cost optimization

CybersecurityOwn the cybersecurity program end-to-end - policy, tooling, monitoring, and incident response

Manage security stack including EDR/XDR, email security, vulnerability management, and user awareness training

Lead annual security assessments, penetration testing, and cyber insurance documentation

Ensure OT/IT security posture across manufacturing environments

Analytics & Business IntelligenceOwn the analytics and BI environment built on Snowflake and Sigma - architecture, data pipelines, and platform health

Partner with Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams to deliver actionable dashboards and self-service reporting

Drive data governance and master data management practices

Team & Vendor ManagementLead a lean IT team (internal + managed services) across helpdesk, infrastructure, and application support

Manage IT budget, vendor contracts, and service level agreements

This is a hands-on role - you are expected to be in the work daily, not just managing it
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience; 3+ years in a Director-level or equivalent role
- Deep, hands-on D365 F&O expertise - you have configured it, debugged it, and own it day-to-day
- Manufacturing and/or CPG/food industry experience strongly preferred
- Proven LAN/WAN architecture and management skills in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS) and hands-on familiarity with modern security tooling
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Sigma, not required, but familiarity with BI platforms in general and a willingness to learn
- Comfortable operating in lean, resource-constrained environments - PE-backed or founder-led company experience is a differentiator
- Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent communicator - can translate technical complexity to business stakeholders with no IT background, * Experience with Power Automate, Power Platform, or similar workflow automation tools
- M&A integration experience - tuck-in acquisitions, Day 1 readiness, data migration into existing D365 environment
- Exposure to OT/SCADA environments in food or process manufacturing
