Job description
- Resolving monitoring issues for our internal Infrastructure
- Ensuring core networking and hosting platform are performing at optimal levels
- Design, plan, and test networking platform projects for maintenance, expansion, and upgrades
- Ownership of delivering internal projects to a high standard
- Escalation for the service desk of client issues they cannot resolve
- Mentor non-senior engineers to develop skills and knowledge
- Participation in our on-call rota for the Networks team

Requirements
- Hold a Service Provider or Enterprise Network (Juniper/Cisco/etc) certification at the Professional level; Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer or equivalent Next-Generation Firewall vendor certification (Desirable)
- Working knowledge of the ITIL Framework
- Extensive experience with multi-vendor products is essential; Juniper, Cisco, and Palo Alto Networks experience is desirable
- Proven experience in planning and implementing networking projects
- Experience using monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk, etc.
- Experience working with complex Wi-Fi deployments and Unified Communications
- Experience working with BGP in an ISP environment
- Experience working in an MPLS environment
- Strong understanding of ticket systems and understanding of priorities and SLAs
- Effective communication skills
- Methodical approach to diagnosis and documentation
- Independent research; organisation and prioritisation skills
- Full clean UK driving license
- Excellent conversational fluency in English is required to clearly explain complex technical issues
