Job description

We are seeking a driven Associate Data Scientist to join our growing team at Loop Horizon. This role suits someone with solid technical foundations who is eager to take on responsibility and learns quickly by doing.

As an Associate Data Scientist, you will own analytical workstreams within client projects - building models, generating insights, and delivering data products that drive real business decisions.

You'll work closely with a senior data scientist who will help shape your approach, provide guidance on technical and client challenges, and support your development. That said, we're looking for someone who is naturally curious and proactive - someone who enjoys figuring things out and takes ownership of their work.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to do meaningful, client-facing work and grow quickly through varied, hands-on experience., * Own analytical workstreams within client engagements, delivering robust solutions with senior support as required

  • Conduct exploratory analysis, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Develop and implement data products that address client business challenges - from core analytics to production ready ML solutions
  • Communicate results clearly to non-technical stakeholders, both in writing and in person
  • Tackle ambiguous problems with initiative, while knowing when to collaborate or escalate
  • Keep pace with emerging tools and techniques - particularly in AI - and look for opportunities to apply them

Requirements

Our continued growth and client demand means we are looking for a capable early-career data scientist ready to make an immediate impact while developing their skills alongside an experienced team., Required:

  • 2+ years of commercial experience in either data analytics, data science or machine learning
  • A strong academic background in a STEM subject (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering etc) from a top University
  • Fluent SQL skills alongside proficiency in Python for data manipulation, analysis and modelling
  • Solid grasp of core machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering), when to apply them and how to evaluate results
  • Strong communicator- able to explain technical work clearly to non-technical audiences

Desirable

  • Experience with marketing data, digital behavioural data (Adobe Analytics/GA4) and marketing analytics use cases (e.g., segmentation, attribution, propensity modelling) is beneficial but not required
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data warehousing technologies (e.g., Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift) is a big plus
  • Comfortable using Git for versioning and collaboration

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive salary
  • 25 days holiday, plus an additional 3 days leave between Christmas and New Year
  • Pension scheme and life assurance
  • Private Healthcare for you (and your spouse/children at extra cost)
  • Flexible benefits scheme including electric car leasing scheme, cycle to work, gym discounts, discounted vouchers
  • Shares in company after one years' service
  • Hybrid working - we believe in a balance between spending time face-to-face with colleagues and our clients, as well as enabling working from home
  • Excellent opportunities to grow and develop
  • Vibrant, friendly, dynamic team with calendar of regular social activities and team events

Please note, only candidates with permanent right to work in the UK will be considered.
