Job description

  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and the wider organization to build and run products
  • Design, develop, and implement both front-end and back-end features as per backlog/priority
  • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features
  • Proactively work with customers to resolve their issues and respond to feature requests
  • Build APIs and microservices that solve impactful business problems
  • Work in an agile CI/CD environment to deliver rapid iterations at a sustained velocity
  • Be an active member of a team, participating in peer reviews and testing others code through automated test scripting

  • Web, We are looking for a DevX Kotlin (or Java) Developer to join our team in Sheffield, working in a hybrid environment (60% office, 40% home). Our Developer Experience (DevX) Standards and Controls function builds a platform for control owners and development teams to manage and view their compliance with various software development controls. We offer contact with top IT technologies, as well as internal training events, workshops, and in-house seminars with leading industry experts.

Requirements

  • Experience in Kotlin (or significant Java experience with a willingness to learn Kotlin)
  • Experienced in at least two or three of the following: API development, SQL/databases, HTML/Javascript
  • Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in working with Agile methodologies including the use of Jira/Confluence
  • Understanding of Microservices
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • English proficiency (B2+)
  • Optional: Good working knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Optional: Experience building out CI toolchains using Jenkins CI/CD
  • Optional: A background in Systems Administration across Linux/AIX/WAS platforms
