Job description

  • Migrate data from legacy on-premise systems to AWS cloud-native architecture
  • Support the technical lead with design and client interactions
  • Design, develop, and test data pipelines for analytics and reporting
  • Implement ETL/ELT processes using Open Source and AWS tools
  • Adopt DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment
  • Collaborate with junior engineers and support their development
  • Engage in Agile software delivery processes
  • Continuously seek ways to improve the technical solutions and processes

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Core AWS Tools (AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift)
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Knowledge of SQL and Data Storage Technologies including AWS Redshift and AWS RDS
  • Some experience with AWS data lakes on AWS S3
  • Experience with data modeling and job scheduling/orchestration
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD tools
  • Experience in data virtualization tools (e.g., Denodo) is a plus
  • Familiarity with reporting tools and data analytics toolsets is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Awareness of Agile Scrum methodology and DevOps culture, We are a dynamic team operating in the Data Contract Delivery Area, offering a range of data and analytics solutions that align with our clients business objectives. This role is pivotal as we focus on cloud transformation initiatives. We operate in Telford with a flexible work arrangement of 2 days in-office per week. We are seeking passionate Senior AWS Data Engineers who thrive in an Agile environment and are eager to contribute to cloud migration, data quality enhancement, and fraud reduction efforts.
