Our Connected Aviation - Air Traffic Solutions - Software Engineering Department (ATS-SED) is looking for a talented, experienced Software Engineer to join our team that is developing and supporting our Air Traffic Control Systems worldwide such as: NextGen Weather Processor, STARS, and the AutoTrac product lines. Our programs are safety-of-life air traffic management systems that we have developed for the FAA and international customers for controlling and monitoring civil and military aviation traffic. This is an opportunity to learn new COTS, tools, processes, and methodologies as you focus on improving your skills to support, design, develop, integrate, and test operational software components throughout the SW development life-cycle.
What You Will Do:

You will make complex fixes to solve issues in the software baselines.

Update SW process documentation and work instructions needed to meet ATS SED's high maturity level software engineering standards and processes.

Participate in agile associated processes and procedures to improve daily standups, sprint planning, sprint feature development, retrospectives, back log grooming and story pointing.

Work with an integrated engineering team to support cost and schedule objectives by working in a highly collaborative environment, requiring frequent multi-level communication with engineering team members, program management and external stakeholders.
Requirements

Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Experience developing and integrating software in a Red Hat 9 environment using GIT

Experience working across the full software development lifecycle using Java or C/C++ Participate in agile associated processes and procedures to improve daily standups, sprint planning, sprint feature development, retrospectives, back log grooming and story pointing.

Experience in software testing or debugging source code

Qualifications We Prefer:

Participated in agile associated processes and procedures to improve daily standups, sprint planning, sprint feature development, retrospectives, back log grooming and story pointing.

Experience with Agile methodologies and the Atlassian tool suite including Jira, Confluence, Bamboo and Bitbucket

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks

Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.

Tuition reimbursement program, The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
