Job description
We are seeking a full-time Test Software Engineer 1 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for building upon existing testing frameworks and methodologies to develop basic tests for Garmin products., * Develops test software in C, C++, LabWindow's CVI, TestStand, or other selected languages in accordance with Garmin's software development methodology to test the performance and functionality of Garmin's communication and navigation products
- Troubleshoots basic testing problems, correctly identifies root cause of failures, works with project team to resolve issues
- Uses test development tools and equipment (in-house and commercial) to test appliances
- Consistently follows Test Development Standard and project test procedure definitions
- May be responsible for planning own technical work
- Applies design standards and procedures using appropriate engineering tools to document and implement basic designs in an organized manner
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Experience and/or training in high level computer languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages relevant to Garmin's business needs
- Demonstrates knowledge, education, experience and/or training necessary to develop tests and troubleshoot basic testing problems, * Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- Relevant experience in TestStand
- Training in GPIB / IEEE interfaces with test equipment
