Job description
We're looking for a hands-on, insight-driven Business Analyst to join a growing team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This role is W2 only (no C2C) and fully remote, with a strong preference for candidates who can work EST hours.
This is not a passive reporting role. We need someone who loves digging into data, proactively uncovering insights, and turning numbers into clear recommendations that drive business decisions. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders-including leadership-supporting areas like Operations, Merchandising, Marketing, and Store Performance.
What You'll Do
- Own and build Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations from end to end
- Proactively analyze data and surface insights-not just respond to requests
- Translate sales, margin, pricing, promotion, and operational data into actionable recommendations
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities across a multi-unit retail environment
- Partner with cross-functional teams and present findings to leadership
- Work with large, complex datasets using Power BI and Excel
Requirements
Must Have
- Strong, hands-on Power BI experience (this is core to the role)
- A proactive, curious mindset-you go looking for insights
- Experience analyzing sales, margin, pricing, promotions, or operational performance
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to clearly explain data and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience in convenience retail, retail, grocery, QSR, or multi-unit environments
- Experience supporting Operations, Merchandising, and Marketing simultaneously
- Familiarity with POS, loyalty, labor, inventory, or category management data
- Experience building KPI frameworks or executive-level reporting
