Senior Data Engineer Reinsurance (a)

Your role

• Design, develop and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for reinsurance data

• Build analytical data models in a modern cloud data platform

• Automate data integration processes via API, SFTP and batch loads

• Implement data lineage, cataloguing and documentation

• Support analytics use cases in pricing, exposure modelling and performance steering

• Translate business requirements from underwriting, finance and technical accounting into robust technical solutions

• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, data architecture, UITS in Vienna and external data providers

• Strong SQL and Python skills

• Experience with cloud data platforms, ideally Databricks

• Solid expertise in data modelling and ETL/ELT frameworks

• Good understanding of IFRS 17 on the level of data logic, reporting requirements and regulatory data needs

• Experience in insurance or reinsurance is strongly preferred; experience in another regulated financial services environment may also be relevant

• Ability to work independently, structure complex topics and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders

• Fluent English is sufficient; German is a plus, not a must

• Interest in combining technology, data and business impact in a regulated reinsurance environment
