Job description
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging - but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
What you'll do
SAP is launching a bold, long-term initiative to explore the transformative potential of Quantum Technologies. Anchored within the Office of the CTO, we are building a high-caliber, world-class team of experts to create a center of expertise for Quantum Computing. This central team, reporting to SAP's Head of Quantum, is responsible for orchestrating development efforts across the company and managing the complex stakeholder landscape.
As the Senior Technology Project Specialist, you will act as the organizational backbone of this initiative, serving as a key business partner to the Head of Quantum. Your role is less about developing strategy and more about driving its execution through flawless organization, reporting, and coordination. You will ensure the day-to-day business of our quantum initiative runs smoothly, enabling the team to focus on achieving our ambitious goals.
The Role
- Serve as the right hand to the Head of Quantum, managing the day-to-day business operations of the central Quantum team to drive our journey towards a quantum-native organization.
- Proactively collect, collate, and manage all action items, reports, and progress updates from across the Quantum initiative. You will be responsible for tracking milestones and deadlines to ensure the program stays on schedule.
- Coordinate with Product Management and the Business Heads of Lines of Business (LOBs) working on Quantum Computing to gather inputs, track progress, and prepare consolidated reports and executive presentations.
- Manage ongoing communications and operational alignment with the wider internal stakeholder audience, including Research, Government Affairs, and other corporate functions, ensuring everyone is informed and synchronized.
- Prepare high-quality, executive-level presentations, briefing documents, and status reports for the Head of Quantum and other senior leaders, transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Collaborate closely with the new dedicated Quantum Partner Manager to ensure a seamless flow of information between internal activities and the external partner ecosystem.
Requirements
- Proven experience in project management, program coordination, or a business operations role, ideally within a strategic or R&D context in a large technology organization.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills. You are highly structured, detail-oriented, and have a goal-oriented work style focused on execution, tracking, and reporting.
- Outstanding executive communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources into clear, concise, and impactful reports for senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage without formal authority, skillfully navigating complex organizational landscapes and aligning stakeholders with individual and diverging interests.
- A strategic mindset that allows you to understand the bigger picture, coupled with a talent for managing ambiguity and uncertainty in a rapidly evolving, high-tech field.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English, both written and verbal.
- A genuine interest in emerging technologies like Quantum Computing and AI, coupled with the ability to quickly understand their business context and implications.
