Job description
This role is part of an ongoing strategic project within the pharmaceutical diagnostics sector, focused on the development of a digital solution that supports continuous glucose monitoring for diabetic patients. The platform enables real-time tracking of glucose levels through connected medical devices and applications, helping patients and healthcare professionals better understand trends, anticipate risks, and improve disease management. The system operates in a highly regulated environment and is built to scale across global markets.
As a Solution Architect, you will define and drive the architectural vision across a Solution Train, ensuring alignment between business needs, enterprise standards, and technical implementation. You will work closely with Solution Management, System Architects, Enterprise Architects, and external partners to design a solution that is feasible, scalable, and sustainable over time.
You will act as a key bridge between business, product, and engineering, operating in a complex, multi-team environment with high stakeholder exposure.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate closely with Solution Management to design solutions that meet customer and stakeholder needs
- Work with System Architects and suppliers within the Solution Train to elaborate the solution, validate technology assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and converge on the final design
- Ensure the feasibility and long-term sustainability of the solution
- Design and evolve the technical solution in collaboration with System Architects, ensuring consistency across the architecture
- Enable and support the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
- Partner with Enterprise Architects to define and support Architectural Enablers contributing to the Architectural Runway
- Develop and maintain the Architectural Runway to enable efficient and scalable delivery
- Manage suppliers operating as Agile Release Trains (ARTs), ensuring alignment within the overall value stream
- Align technology approaches and architectural decisions across the solution landscape
- Actively participate in solution-level ceremonies and support System Architects and ARTs during Program Increments, * 100% remote work, based in Spain, with occasional (non-mandatory) meetings in Sant Cugat or client sites
- Continuous learning with training, mentorship, and development budget
- Health and wellness benefits, including private health insurance and gym subsidy
- Strong engineering culture with knowledge-sharing and technical excellence
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, ideally with certifications in areas such as Cloud, Data, Security, Integration, or Solution Architecture
- 3-6 years of experience in infrastructure and/or application architecture within medium to large global enterprises, preferably in regulated environments
- Strong understanding of architecture frameworks and patterns (API, SOA, CI/CD, TOGAF)
- Experience with cloud platforms, data governance, data management, and advanced analytics environments
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and medical device constraints affecting architecture decisions
- SAFe for Architects certification (or equivalent experience in scaled Agile environments)
- Ability to support business cases for technical solutions, including ROI and efficiency analysis
- Excellent oral and written English, with the ability to build trusted relationships across business and engineering teams
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Proactive, self-driven mindset with strong organizational and conflict-resolution abilities
Nice to have:
- Experience with AWS (certification is a plus) and/or other cloud providers (Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7) and GxP-regulated environments
- Experience with API design, modeling tools, and web/mobile security
