Job description

Working closely with teaching staff and the wider IT team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing first-line technical support to staff and students
  • Setting up, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware such as computers, laptops, printers and interactive displays
  • Supporting software installations, updates and system configurations
  • Managing user accounts, passwords and access permissions
  • Assisting with network maintenance and basic server support
  • Preparing and maintaining IT equipment for classrooms and exams
  • Ensuring all IT systems are secure, up to date and functioning effectively
  • Logging and resolving technical issues in a timely and professional manner

Requirements

We are seeking a proactive and technically capable IT Technician to join the support team of a successful mixed secondary school in Barking.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong IT knowledge and problem-solving skills to play a key role in supporting the school's day-to-day technology needs and ensuring smooth operation across teaching and administrative systems., We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong interest or background in IT (qualification or practical experience)
  • Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Has good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users
  • Works well independently and as part of a team in a busy school environment
