Job description

Technical Lead Java & Angular (Leeds, UK | Hybrid 3 days in office | Full Time)

  • Lead an agile, multi disciplinary digital team, balancing hands on development with technical leadership.
  • Work on Java (Spring Boot) and AngularJS / TypeScript codebases, delivering new features with Product Owners and Architects.
  • Use AWS services: ECR, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions, Apigee.
  • Work with tooling: GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, Docker, SonarQube / Fortify on Demand, Cypress / Selenium, Karate / Cucumber, Jest.
  • Define and enforce engineering best practices: code reviews, CI/CD, quality checks, and testing standards.
  • Support live services during office hours: identify, troubleshoot, and fix issues collaboratively.
  • Mentor and coach junior developers, improving team capability and technical maturity.

Requirements

  • Must have graduate level qualification (or equivalent) in Computing / Computer Science or related field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Certified Developer Associate is mandatory.
  • Strong problem solving, architectural thinking, and experience in scalable, maintainable systems.
