Job description
As Head of Data, you'll sit at the heart of our technology and senior leadership community, with the mandate to:
- Set and lead VIVID's data vision and strategy - turning ambition into a clear, prioritised roadmap
- Build a modern, trusted and well-governed data ecosystem that enables confident decision-making
- Drive the shift from reactive reporting to predictive and AI-enabled insight
- Ensure data is accessible, secure and actively used across the organisation
- Enable smarter services, greater automation and enhanced customer self-service
In short, you'll help VIVID become a truly data-driven organisation. What you'll be doing
- Leading and evolving our end-to-end data capability: architecture, engineering, analytics, insight, governance and AI
- Overseeing modern data platforms (warehouse/lakehouse, BI and analytics tooling) to ensure they are scalable, secure and future-ready
- Establishing and embedding strong data governance, ownership and quality across the business
- Partnering with senior leaders to prioritise demand and deliver insight that really matters
- Championing ethical, inclusive and responsible use of data
- Developing organisational capability through self-service analytics, coaching and communities of practice
- Building strong supplier and delivery partnerships where needed
- Delivering AI solutions that transition VIVID from reactive to predictive driving adoption across the business
- Leading a multi-disciplinary, high performing team, creating an environment for innovation and growth.
Requirements
You're a confident, credible data leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on pragmatism. You'll bring:
- Significant experience leading data, analytics or insight functions at a senior level
- A proven track record of defining and delivering data strategies in complex organisations
- Strong knowledge of modern data architectures, governance and analytics platforms
- Experience building and leading diverse, high-performing teams
- The ability to influence at executive level and bring people with you on the journey, Experience in regulated, public-sector or customer-focused environments, and exposure to cloud data platforms and AI, is a strong advantage.
Benefits & conditions
Contractually based out of our Portsmouth or Basingstoke office, this is a full-time permanent role, working 37 hours per week. You'll be expected to attend the office 1 days a week to enable you to build strong working relationships with your teams. When you are performing in the role, we'd offer flexibility in your work location, either the office or home and you'd be expected to work in the office as required.
