Design Engineer

Working independently and with team members to design and develop manufacturing new products, in conjunction with internal and external customers, creating and maintaining component and product specifications., * Supporting internal colleagues with design and development of new (and existing) products.

• Taking concept (s) through to full production and ongoing product life support

• Creating and maintaining all relevant specifications, part numbers and bills of materials, providing all information to relevant departments/ stakeholders.

• Producing accurate and robust costings and quotes within tight time scales

• Providing timely support and direction to internal production personnel and departments.

• Liaising effectively with internal and external customers

• Off site visits to suppliers and customers, This role profile summarises the major responsibilities. It is not intended to exclude other activities, nor future changes from the post holders responsibilities

• HND Level

• Previous hands on experience ideally gained in an industrial environment

• Practical examples of application in similar environments e.g. Sheet metal industrial environment

• Previous CAD experience ideally 3D

• Computer literate and conversant with ERP systems

• Driving Licence

• Able to work under own initiative and on occasion under pressure whilst adhering to strict deadlines

• Strong problem solving skills

• Proven IT skills

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
