Job description
We are an established plumbing, heating and bathroom installation company (trading since 1953). We also have our own plumbing merchant and showroom., * Build and maintain e-commerce websites (WordPress/WooCommerce or Shopify)
- Upload and structure products, categories and collections
- Improve website speed, mobile usability and performance
- Create and optimise landing pages for lead generation
- Implement tracking (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.)
- Support marketing campaigns with high-converting pages
- Identify opportunities to improve user experience and conversions
- Create visually compelling website layouts and user interfaces using tools such as Adobe Photoshop
- Develop responsive web designs ensuring optimal performance across various devices and browsers using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, SCSS, and Less.
- Implement interaction design principles to improve user engagement and usability
- Optimise websites for search engines (SEO) by applying best practices in content structuring and metadata management.
- Maintain existing websites by performing updates, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring website security through regular maintenance routines.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights for continuous improvement of website functionality and design.
- Utilise analytics tools such as Google Analytics to monitor website performance and inform optimisation strategies.
- Manage content management systems (CMS) including WordPress
- Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards and best practices in information architecture for enhanced usability.
Requirements
This role requires a strong understanding of digital design principles, user experience (UX), and front-end development, with the ability to translate concepts into visually appealing and functional digital assets., * Proven experience building e-commerce websites
- Strong knowledge of WordPress/WooCommerce or Shopify
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience with product-based websites (100+ products)
- Understanding of conversion optimisation and user journeys
- Ability to work independently and deliver results
- Proven expertise in digital design, UI/UX principles, wireframing, prototyping, and information architecture.
- Strong proficiency in front-end development languages including HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS/Less), JavaScript (React, Angular), PHP, Python, SQL/MySQL.
- Extensive experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Adobe XD, Adobe After Effects & Flash for multimedia content creation.
- Familiarity with content management systems like WordPress and Drupal; experience with website maintenance is essential.
- Knowledge of responsive web design techniques ensuring seamless performance across devices.
- Experience working with version control systems such as Git; familiarity with AJAX for dynamic content loading.
- Ability to conduct user research and usability testing using tools like Balsamiq or InVision to enhance user experience.
- Data analysis skills using Google Analytics or similar platforms to evaluate website metrics effectively.
- Understanding of email marketing platforms like Mailchimp; experience in integrating web forms with marketing campaigns is advantageous.
