Job description

As an IT Engineering Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the Engineering team by completing pre-builds, cleaning and scanning IT equipment, and conducting quality checks to ensure all systems meet required standards.

This fast-paced role is ideal for someone practical and detail-oriented, offering a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with IT hardware while developing skills in maintaining and preparing systems to high-quality standards.

The position is office-based in Dalbeattie. Our standard operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Testing, inspection, and recording of servers and IT components
  • Assisting with the processing of customer orders as required
  • Stripping, cleaning, and reassembling equipment according to instructions.
  • Fault finding and repair on servers and IT components when cost-effective.
  • Building customer servers to specified requirements.
  • Carrying out quality assurance checks on inbound products and customer orders
  • Accurate recording of IT components

Requirements

  • Ability to thrive under pressure, manage priorities effectively, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Interest in and familiarity with IT (desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Outlook & Excel
  • Strong team player with the ability to use their own initiative
  • Problem-solving attitude
