Job description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Integration Engineer to support the integration, evaluation, and delivery of new systems, features, and payloads for Kraken platforms. In this role, you will lead technical workstreams from feasibility and system architecture development through to testing, validation, and deployment.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Software and Control Systems, as well as wider programme and operations teams, to ensure integrated solutions are robust, scalable and operationally effective., * Design and implement integration solutions across hardware, software, and network components.
- Analyse system requirements and identify integration needs and technical constraints.
- Develop system architectures and produce clear technical documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve integration issues to ensure reliable system performance.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to align system functionality.
- Produce and maintain documentation such as integration specifications, diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support test and evaluation activities, including planning, execution, validation, and optimisation.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for scalability, reliability, and security., * Use initiative and sound judgement to overcome challenges effectively.
- Maintain proficiency in relevant IT systems and tools.
- Act ethically and in the best interests of the business at all times.
- Maintain professional relationships across teams to support business objectives.
- Carry out additional duties as directed by senior management.

Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with company policies.
- Ensure equipment is safe, within test date, and operated with all required guards and interlocks.
- Follow company Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- Report any hazards or safety concerns to the line manager or QHSE Manager.
- Use required PPE and ensure it is maintained and replaced when necessary.
Requirements
- Degree, HND or equivalent in Systems, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Software or related Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in a technical engineering role.
- Practical, hands-on approach to testing and problem-solving.
- Understanding of systems thinking and systems engineering principles.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
- Effective team working skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Diligent record keeping and configuration management capability., * Experience within maritime, automotive or aerospace sectors.
- Experience with autonomous or robotic systems.
- Previous exposure to systems integration or systems engineering roles.
- Understanding of data networks (CAN, IP, Serial).
- Knowledge of communication systems including RF (HF, VHF, UHF, MANET), 4G/5G and Satcom.
- Basic electrical engineering skills, particularly with 12/24V systems and electrical safety.
