Job description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer II to support a company focused on building and maintaining a secure, scalable, and modern enterprise network environment. This position is hybrid at Columbia, MD. The Network Engineer II will play a hands-on role in designing, implementing, and supporting complex network infrastructures across on-prem, data center, and cloud environments. This is a high-visibility opportunity to make a tangible impact within a lean team driving modernization and zero trust initiatives. Responsibilities for the Network Engineer II include:
- Designing, configuring, and implementing enterprise network solutions across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments
- Performing firewall rule analysis and changes, including traffic flow validation (source, destination, ports, and protocols)
- Supporting routing configurations and optimizations across production and disaster recovery environments
- Troubleshooting complex network issues and providing Tier 3 support

Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering within enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience with firewalls, routing, and network traffic flow analysis
- Expertise with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP, including data center and DR environments
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent professional experience
Benefits & conditions
- Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000 base depending on experience
- Hybrid Schedule (3 days on site, 2 days remote)
