Job description

We are seeking a Remote AS/400 Developer to support and optimize a mature IBMi (AS/400) environment. This role focuses on maintaining COBOL-based business applications, ensuring system stability, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. You will also play a key role in a strategic migration to the Hyland OnBase platform., * System Optimization: Maintain and enhance COBOL applications, CL, and DDS to ensure peak performance.

Troubleshooting: Identify root causes and resolve system/application issues independently.
Data & Integration: Manage batch processes, SQL-based data access, and file transfers.
Migration Support: Provide technical expertise for data transitions and integration during the shift to OnBase.
System Health: Monitor job queues, performance metrics (WRKACTJOB), and manage backup/restore processes (BRMS).

Requirements

IBMi Expertise: 5+ years of experience in COBOL development and support on IBMi (AS/400).
Systems Programming: 5+ years of experience with CL, DDS, and DB2 for i (SQL).
Modern Tools: Proficiency with Access Client Solutions (ACS) and Navigator for i.
Operations: Strong experience in batch processing and job scheduling.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
Flexibility: Ability to work alternative schedules for maintenance or urgent troubleshooting.
