Job description

We are hiring an Embedded & Systems Engineer to help design, build, and maintain the systems behind our professional audio products.

This role sits at the intersection of:

  • Embedded Linux systems
  • Hardware integration
  • FPGA / digital design
  • System architecture and product behavior

You will be responsible for both hands-on implementation and system-level ownership, ensuring that hardware, firmware, and software all work together seamlessly.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building real systems, debugging across layers, and working in a highly collaborative environment where everyone contributes to the outcome.

What You'll Do

  • Build and develop embedded Linux systems (BSPs, build systems, configuration)
  • Bring up new hardware platforms and support board-level integration
  • Design and implement C/C++ software close to hardware
  • Interface embedded Linux with FPGA and other hardware systems
  • Define system architecture, interfaces, and product behavior
  • Debug issues across the full stack (application * Linux * FPGA * hardware)
  • Support manufacturing, testing, and field issue resolution
  • Participate in design reviews and collaborative engineering discussions
  • Contribute ideas and solutions in a small-team, high-trust environment
  • Help shape long-term platform direction and technical decisions
  • Have high visibility into decisions and product direction
  • Meaningful, long-term engineering work (not disposable code)
  • Supportive environment with sustainable workload expectations

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in embedded systems or systems engineering
  • Strong C/C++ experience close to hardware
  • Embedded Linux experience (Yocto, BSPs, drivers, or system bring-up)
  • Hands-on debugging of hardware/software integration issues
  • Ability to take loosely defined problems and turn them into working systems
  • Comfortable working in a small, highly collaborative, family-style engineering team
  • Strong communication, humility, and willingness to work closely with others

Nice to Have

  • FPGA experience (Verilog/SystemVerilog)
  • DSP, audio systems, or real-time systems experience
  • XMOS or similar architectures
  • High-speed digital or hardware design exposure
  • Experience in small teams with broad ownership
  • Tools: Git, Vivado, Altium, MATLAB, This role is best suited for engineers who enjoy building and debugging real systems in a collaborative, hands-on environment. You should be comfortable working across software, hardware, and FPGA boundaries while contributing as part of a small, tight-knit team where everyone works closely together to solve problems.

Benefits & conditions

  • Retirement plan with employer match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Flexible working hours
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)
  • Equity eligibility
