Akkodis is seeking an Infrastructure Manager for an excellent organization in Denton, TX!!! This will be a fully onsite role, 5 days a week. The desired candidate will have 7+ years of progressive IT experience in enterprise IT infrastructure (systems, storage, virtualization, cloud, networking, backup/recovery, or unified communications) with at least 3 years of experience in leadership. You will be responsible for coordinating, driving, and ensuring completion of infrastructure work across day-to-day operations and project-level deliverables for all locations. This is a working manager role focused on task leadership, execution management, and service delivery, serving as an operational extension and assistant to the Associate Director, Infrastructure. The position ensures the Infrastructure team's backlog is planned, prioritized, tracked, and completed to standard-spanning ticket-based work, recurring operational activities, maintenance, and modernization projects., * Facilitates consistent execution of divisional processes, including incident and problem management, change management, knowledge management, service process design, and performance analysis-ensuring work is visible, measurable, and continuously improving.
- Help lead the division in realizing its mission to "empower an agile, digital environment and elevate technology as a strategic institutional asset," promoting a collaborative, accountable, transparent, and inclusive culture within ITS.
- Manages the Infrastructure operational backlog (tickets, requests, maintenance, and project tasks) by intake, clarification, prioritization, assignment coordination, and completion tracking.
- Establishes and runs team operating rhythms (daily/weekly check-ins, work planning, status reviews) to ensure consistent execution and on-time delivery.
- Ensures support tickets assigned to Infrastructure are addressed, updated, and resolved in a timely manner; drives follow-through and removes blockers by coordinating resources, dependencies, and escalation paths.
- Produces and maintains delivery artifacts (work plans, checklists, runbooks, cutover plans, after-action notes, and task-level schedules) to support repeatable execution and reduce risk.
- Coordinates cross-team dependencies (applications, security, service desk, vendors, and campus stakeholders) to keep deliverables moving and avoid delays.
- Facilitates consistent execution of incident, problem, and change processes for Infrastructure work, ensuring documentation, approvals, communications, and post-change validation are completed to standard.
- Supports operational health activities (patching windows, capacity reviews, lifecycle tasks, DR/testing activities, monitoring follow-ups) by tracking commitments and ensuring completion and documentation.
- Tracks recurring operational deliverables (monthly/quarterly tasks, audits, maintenance cycles) and ensures nothing "falls through the cracks."
- Identifies operational risk, drift, and process gaps; partners with technical leads to define corrective actions and ensure they are completed and verified.
- Assists the Associate Director, Network Architect, and technical leads with planning, sequencing, and executing infrastructure projects of varying complexity and priority; maintains integrated task plans, milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Coordinates project communications (status updates, timelines, outage notices, stakeholder summaries) in clear business-friendly and technical language.
- Tracks and analyzes service and delivery trends; produces reports/dashboards for internal leadership and stakeholders (e.g., ticket aging, throughput, project milestone status, risk/issue logs).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required. Additional job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Seven years of relevant experience in enterprise IT infrastructure (systems, storage, virtualization, cloud, networking, backup/recovery, or unified communications) and operational service delivery.
- Experience with major server operating systems (Windows server, Redhat Linux, etc.).
- Experience managing interconnected systems and servers in a complex environment.
- Experience with virtualization systems such as VMware, Vsphere and other hypervisors
- Experience with backup\restore applications such as Commvault, Veeam
- Emailing applications such as ListServ, Proofpoint and DLP
- Patch remediation software such as Rapid7, Automox, and WSUS
- Monitoring and alerting software such as What's Up Gold
- Experience with cloud platforms - Microsoft 365 and Google Workplace
- Experience with on Prem Microsoft Exchange in a Hybrid configuration
- Experience with network technology - wired and wireless topography, Firewalls, routers, switch gear, Waps, load balancing
- Knowledge of various types of network cabling such as fiber and ethernet and best practices on placement
- Demonstrated experience coordinating complex technical work, leading execution across multiple contributors, and delivering measurable outcomes (project or operations).
- Formal supervisory experience not required; experience providing work direction, delivery leadership, and operational coordination strongly preferred.
