Job description

IT Security Training Team Lead responsible for shaping and delivering cyber security awareness and training across the organisation. You'll design engaging security initiatives, manage phishing and simulation programmes, and improve cyber literacy by translating technical risks into clear, impactful messaging for diverse business audiences.

This role leads the maturity and delivery of cyber security awareness and training initiatives across the organisation. As part of the IT Security team, you'll design, deliver, and continuously improve engaging training programmes that strengthen cyber resilience and embed good security behaviours across the business.

You'll work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and regional functions, ensuring cyber security messaging is clear, relevant, and accessible to a technically diverse audience.

Main duties and responsibilities

Security training & awareness

  • Design, plan, and deliver cyber security awareness initiatives, including annual security awareness programmes.
  • Develop and execute engaging campaigns using blogs, webinars, presentations, and digital learning content.
  • Plan, deliver, and continuously improve regular email and phishing awareness programmes.
  • Lead cyber security drill and simulation exercises for both IT and business audiences.

Engagement & communications

  • Translate cyber security risks and requirements into clear, relatable messaging for non?technical audiences.
  • Manage communications and training activities related to key security initiatives.
  • Work with teams across multiple functions and regions to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
  • Develop new initiatives to improve engagement and participation levels across the organisation.

Governance, assurance & improvement

  • Liaise with business continuity leads to capture lessons learned and embed improvements.
  • Gather feedback on training effectiveness and define clear improvement actions and next steps.
  • Track and report on awareness and engagement metrics.

Leadership & collaboration

  • Lead the recruitment and ongoing coordination of an internal Cyber Champions Network.
  • Act as a key contributor within the IT Security function, supporting wider security objectives.
  • Work autonomously while collaborating closely with the wider IT Security team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing, planning, and delivering IT or cyber security training to diverse audiences.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations and written content.
  • Experience running phishing awareness campaigns and security awareness initiatives.
  • High level of organisation, able to manage multiple initiatives and workloads effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a willingness to seek and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical and business teams.
  • Previous experience in a cyber security or information security?related role.
  • Clear written English skills and confidence communicating via multiple channels
  • Experience using immersive or crisis simulation platforms.
  • Familiarity with cyber incident simulations or tabletop exercises.
