Job description
- Lead the development and maintenance of the War Data Platform (WDP) API Technical Standards Framework.
- Establish authoritative standards for API design, development, and governance across the platform, including RESTful design patterns, API security standards, versioning governance, and lifecycle management procedures.
- Coordinate with the Zero Trust Architect on API security architecture integration, with the Solutions Architect on API interface definitions, and with the Data Architect on data exchange standards.
- Maintain the API standards framework in the enterprise architecture (EA) baseline and prepare API governance Architecture Review Board (ARB) packages.
- Contingent upon contract award.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in API architecture, integration architecture, or software engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in RESTful API design, OpenAPI specification, API security (OAuth 2.0, JWT), and API gateway platforms.
- Experience developing API governance frameworks and ZTA-aligned API security standards in a DoD environment.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance, granted by the US Government, which requires US citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual's eligibility.
- Must be comfortable working onsite full-time at the Pentagon's CDAO facility, or at a designated partner facility within the local area, pending final site establishment.
- Must be comfortable meeting DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF)/8140 requirement for Software Developer (621), obtaining professional certifications or completing additional training, as needed.
Preferred
- Active DoD security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as AWS API Gateway Specialty, MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect, TOGAF 9 Foundation, or CompTIA Security+.
