Job description

We're looking for a Junior AWS Cloud Engineer to help support, maintain, and improve our cloud infrastructure. This is an entry-level role designed for someone who understands public cloud fundamentals and is eager to learn through hands-on experience alongside senior engineers.

You'll work closely with engineering, QA, and cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, automation, and delivery speed., * Deploy, configure, and maintain AWS cloud resources (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, RDS)

  • Assist with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Terragrunt, Helm, etc.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot cloud and Linux-based issues.
  • Participate in improving cloud security, cost optimization, and operational best practices.
  • Manage Linux systems including troubleshooting, system analysis, and shell scripting.
  • Assist with network configuration (VPCs, routing, security groups, load balancers).
  • Document processes, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software development teams, and product support teams.

Applicants must be a resident of Portland, OR metropolitan area for a hybrid work environment (2-3 days per week in office)., * 1-3 years of hands-on AWS experience

  • Strong understanding of Linux administration and command-line tools.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls).
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Perl, etc).
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana, etc).
  • General understanding of IAM roles, policies, and cloud security fundamentals.
  • Familiar with Git and DevOps workflows.
  • Strong willingness to learn and take feedback

  • Experience with Docker, ECS, or EKS (Kubernetes)
  • Exposure to serverless technologies (Lambda, Aurora DB)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or user data)
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Postgres)
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
