Job description

Reports to: System Support Group General Manager; National System Support Analyst General Manager, We are seeking a System Support Manager to provide managerial, operational, and hands-on support for all IT and telephonic needs within a warehouse environment. This role is critical in ensuring seamless system functionality, infrastructure reliability, and operational continuity across distribution operations.

Location Note: This role will be based in Roseville temporarily through September, as we prepare for the opening of a new warehouse in Rancho Cordova, where operations will transition.

Job Purpose

To provide managerial, operational, and working support for all IT and telephonic needs of the warehouse., This position reports directly to the System Support Group General Manager, National System Support Analyst General Manager, and Warehouse Managers. Acts as a Team Leader to Regional Coast System Support Teams, supporting warehouse and transportation operations and all systems used to support WCD operations. Receives direction from corporate IT, Networks, Desktop, and Security regarding IT standards, policies, and procedures. Travel is required based on business needs and projects.

Networking

  • Assists in planning and implementing additions, deletions, and major modifications to local IT infrastructure
  • Implements network security at the local level as established by Corporate Security Director
  • Oversees administration and maintenance of site IT infrastructure and directs IT support personnel
  • Oversees administration of the company's LAN

Telephony

  • Manages and develops upgrades to the company's telephone system at national and local levels
  • Oversees all telephone changes, including routing for seating assignments

Training & Lab Maintenance

  • Oversees administration and maintenance of computer stations and software for training programs
  • Provides additional support as needed

Internal Systems

  • Oversees troubleshooting, system backups, archiving, and disaster recovery
  • Provides expert-level support when necessary
  • Works with project teams to implement internal systems

Business Continuity Plan

  • Knowledge of SQL, VM Server setup, and preparing DC for system failover
  • Works with operations to complete failover with minimal operational impact
  • Documents plans to be followed step-by-step
  • Creates daily store orders through portal
  • Participates in bi-yearly training and testing in sandbox environments
  • Maintains composure in high-pressure situations and responds quickly to minimize disruption

Help Desk Administration

  • Oversees all help desk activities at regional and local levels
  • Responds to escalated issues
  • Oversees administration and maintenance of tracking software
  • Interacts with internal clients to resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner

Asset Management

  • Builds and maintains vendor relationships
  • Manages local purchasing of hardware, software, and IT supplies
  • Ensures company assets are maintained responsibly

Additional Responsibilities

  • Designs and prepares daily and monthly reports for corporate and General Manager
  • Maintains sanitation and safety practices throughout warehouse technology areas

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to be a self-initiator
  • Ability to implement and manage warehouse distribution programs as directed by corporate, HR Manager, and General Manager
  • High-level computer networking, WMS, and TMS system literacy with LAN knowledge/certifications if needed
  • Logistics, EDI, and troubleshooting knowledge required
  • Management skills for high-level tier support
  • College-level training or 4-5 years of experience in systems management
