Job description
This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office., Provides support and/or lead teams through the Engineering development process and implementation of company's products. Projects are typically shorter-term, less complex and more contained with a defined time frame. Programs are typically longer-term, multi-functional, multi-project with complex requirements and effort. Manage activities, resource capability, schedules, budgets, and ensure cross company communications to facilitate product completion on schedule within budget. Work with engineering management to identify and improve process and program efficiencies. Work can involve external parties such as standards bodies, external partners, etc., A PTC Windchill Solution Architect designs, implements, and supports enterprise-level Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems using PTC Windchill. They bridge business requirements with technical solutions, overseeing Windchill customization, system integration (ERP/CAD), and infrastructure architecture (servers, security) to create scalable PLM environments., · Solution Design: Develops detailed technical designs, customizations, and configurations for Windchill, ensuring scalability and security.
· Integration & Technical Leadership: Leads integration efforts with CAD tools (e.g., Creo) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP/S4), providing technical guidance for the full project lifecycle.
· System Customization: Uses Windchill APIs, Java/J2EE, JSP, and XML for custom development, workflows, and lifecycle management.
· Requirements Gathering: Translates complex business needs into actionable technical specifications.
· Performance Optimization: Monitors and tunes Windchill performance, including data migration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Requirements
· Experience: Typically requires 7-10+ years of experience in PLM consulting, implementation, and software development.
· Platform Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of core PTC Windchill architecture and associated modules (i.e. PartsLink, Navigate, Servigistics)
· Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Oracle/SQL Server, Linux/Windows environments, and RESTful Web Services.
Additional Proficiencies:
· Cloud/Hybrid Deployment: Migrating or managing Windchill instances in cloud or hybrid setups.
· Data Migration: Expertise in Windchill Bulk Migration (WBM) for legacy system integration
· PLM Process Knowledge: Extensive experience with PLM processes, methods, and tools, including CAD integration, Part Management, BOM management, change management, and document management.
· Integration Experience: experience with integrating Windchill with other enterprise systems (i.e. SAP S4 HANA, eCAD, mCAD, Libraries, etc.)
· Project Management: Experience in managing the technical aspects of PLM projects, including timelines, scoping and quality standards.
· Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
· Agile Development Methodology: Knowledge and experience working with Agile development methodologies. Able to deliver the solution through sprint cycles.
· Document Management: Create Technical and Functional design Documents
· Industry trends and standards: Understanding industry standard application of OOTB solutions, AI enablement, and harmonized Digital Strategy

- United States of America: Annual Salary USD 153,500 - 310,500 in California // 135,000 - 310,500 in District of Columbia & Georgia & Texas & Wisconsin The listed salary range reflects base salary. Variable incentives may also be offered."
