Cloud Engineer

Cloud: Azure (App Services, SQL, VNets, Key Vault, Storage, Container Registry), AWS/Google Cloud Platform a major plus, Automation & Deployment: Terraform, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), Bash, Python, Containerization: Docker, Docker Compose, Networking: OpenVPN, private DNS, certificate-based authentication, Databases: Azure SQL, MSSQL, Redis, BigQuery, Monitoring: Azure Application Insights, As a Cloud Engineer at Hedgineer, you will own the cloud infrastructure and platform systems that power our client environments-from networking and security to backend systems and DevOps automation. You will work at the intersection of cloud architecture, platform engineering, and AI development, collaborating closely with our Forward Deployed Engineers to design scalable, secure, and high-performance environments for some of the world's most sophisticated hedge funds., * Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture

1. Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure (primarily Azure)
2. Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform) for cross-cloud deployments
3. Optimize cloud resources and ensure security best practices are enforced

Networking & Security

1. Architect and manage secure VPN solutions and client VPC connectivity
2. Configure virtual networks, private endpoints, and DNS management
3. Implement certificate-based authentication and encryption

Automation & DevOps

1. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (Docker)
2. Automate cloud operations with scripting (Bash, Python) and infrastructure testing
3. Enhance monitoring, logging, and disaster recovery strategies

Client Onboarding & Environment Management

1. Provision and configure secure, isolated client environments (VPC, Single-tenant architectures)
2. Implement connectivity solutions (VPN, private links) for clients
3. Automate and document environment setup processes

Backend Systems & Data Infrastructure

1. Design and optimize distributed systems with a focus on caching strategies, query optimization, and database selection for OLAP and OLTP workflows
2. Develop and maintain scalable backend architectures; support front-end integration as required
3. Work with technologies including Redis, MSSQL, and Azure SQL to support high-load financial data workloads
4. Engage actively with the product team to influence the roadmap, ensuring infrastructure decisions align with business strategy and client needs

Experience: 5+ years of experience (in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering (Azure non-negotiable)
