Job description

We are currently seeking a Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer at ICON, you will play a key role in designing and developing clinical data solutions, ensuring the efficient handling, analysis, and reporting of complex clinical trial data. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven insights that support the advancement of cutting-edge therapies and innovative clinical research.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead the design, development, and validation of clinical data programming solutions across CDMS, data ingestion, and analytics systems
  • Oversee the end-to-end SDLC, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and scalable data deliverables
  • Act as the primary programming contact during study setup and delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Program and review datasets, data transfers, and analytics outputs, ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency
  • Identify and mitigate data and project risks, supporting timely and accurate study delivery
  • Serve as Programmer Lead for studies, overseeing programming deliverables and providing technical direction
  • Mentor junior programmers and support knowledge sharing and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, biostatistics, data science, or a related field
  • Strong experience in clinical data programming with SAS, R, or Python
  • In-depth knowledge of CDMS/EDC systems, data validation, and clinical trial processes
  • Understanding of CDISC standards (SDTM, ADaM) and SDLC
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
