Job description
- Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues via help desk channels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software problems related to operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Assist with computer management tasks including software installations, updates, and configurations using tools like SCCM and GPO.
- Support network administration activities including DNS, TCP/IP, LAN, VPN, Firewall configurations, and Cisco Meraki devices.
- Manage computer hardware components and peripherals; perform basic maintenance and upgrades.
- Support IT infrastructure projects involving Active Directory, Windows Server environments, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira, and network security protocols like TCP and TCP/IP.
- Aid in the setup and maintenance of mobile devices and operating systems to ensure connectivity and security compliance.
- Document technical issues and resolutions accurately; communicate effectively with team members and end-users to provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Computer Technician to join our IT support team. This entry-level role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will assist with troubleshooting, managing hardware and software, and supporting network infrastructure to ensure seamless IT operations across the organization. This position offers hands-on experience with a variety of operating systems, networking protocols, and IT management tools, making it suitable for individuals passionate about technology and customer service., * Basic understanding of IT support principles including help desk operations, desktop support, and network administration.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux.
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN architecture, VPNs, firewalls, Active Directory, GPOs, SCCM, ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy, Meraki solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Analytical skills for diagnosing problems efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Prior internship or hands-on experience in IT support or related fields is a plus but not required. This role is ideal for individuals eager to grow their expertise in IT support while contributing to the stability of our organization's technology infrastructure.
Benefits & conditions
The rate of pay is Novice=$20hrly, Apprentice=$22hrly Journeyman=$25hrly, and MasterTech=$27hrly and between 25 to 32 hours per week.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Permanent, Temp-to-hire
Pay: Up to $27.00 per hour
