MS-SQL Data Engineer (Mid Level)

We are seeking an MS-SQL Data Engineer to help design, build, and optimize our enterprise data warehouse environment. This role will focus heavily on SQL development, ETL processes, and data modeling-from raw ingestion layers to curated delta transformations and star schema design.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines using SSIS and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Build and maintain data warehouse layers (Raw, Delta, Star Schema).

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.

• Partner with business stakeholders to translate reporting and analytics needs into data models.

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across multiple insurance and broker data sources.

• Support dashboards, analytics tools, and data science initiatives.

• Implement best practices for version control and code management using Git (or similar tools).

Mid Level Engineer (4 + years)

• 4 + years of experience in SQL Server development and data engineering.

• Deep expertise in SQL performance tuning and optimization.

• Extensive experience designing and building enterprise data warehouses (Raw ? Delta ? Star Schema).

• Strong experience with SSIS and Microsoft data stack.

• Proven experience with data architecture and scalable system design.

• Experience managing code repositories and CI/CD processes for data projects.

• Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical design discussions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance, financial services, or wealth management industry.

• Familiarity with analytics platforms and BI tools.

• Experience supporting data science or advanced analytics environments.

• Understanding of enterprise data governance and compliance requirements.

Work Environment

• Hybrid role based in Minneapolis, MN (1-2 days per week onsite).

• Collaborative, team-based environment.
