Moov is revolutionizing the way businesses integrate and use financial services. Our platform empowers developers to build, scale, and innovate faster with seamless payments and banking solutions. We believe in simplifying financial technology so businesses can focus on what matters most-growing their companies.
As a Senior Android Engineer, you will be a foundational member of Moov's new mobile team and the technical owner of every Android surface we ship, whether it is consumed by developers integrating with Moov or by the cardholders they serve. You will shape the Kotlin codebase from the ground up, establish the engineering patterns the rest of the team will build on, and partner closely with your iOS counterpart to keep the two platforms on a shared release rhythm.
You will:
- Own Moov's Android foundation: the public Kotlin SDK surface and the architecture beneath it.
- Build on modern Android frameworks: Jetpack Compose, Kotlin coroutines, and Flow.
- Hold a high bar for software design and attention to detail. Craft is the product.
- Establish testing, CI, and release practices that make shipping routine.
- Partner closely with server-side engineering, Product, Design, and leadership on ambiguous, early-stage work.
- Pair with your iOS counterpart on product parity and a shared release rhythm.
- Work out loud, favoring transparency, and openly sharing progress with stakeholders.
- Help build the mobile team and lead Android engineering within it. You will be part of a supportive culture where people show up for each other.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years building production Android apps in Kotlin.
- Deep fluency with Jetpack Compose and Kotlin coroutines.
- Shipped code other engineers depend on: a library, SDK, or public API where backward compatibility and ergonomics mattered.
- Performance, observability, and accessibility as first-class concerns, not afterthoughts.
- Strong written communication, a bias to action, and a low ego about being wrong. You navigate ambiguity in the open, take feedback well, and raise the level of people around you.
- Bonus: Tap to Pay on Android, NFC/HCE payments, themeable design systems, or prior fintech/payments experience.
Benefits & conditions
- 100% remote. We make remote-work work.
- We match what you contribute to your 401(k) up to 5% of your salary
- Generous parental leave
- Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
- Unlimited PTO, paid holidays, and sick leave
- Learning stipend and a culture that encourages and promotes professional growth and development
- Home office stipend
- Ownership in the company via employee stock options
- Culture of people helping people who give first, celebrate wins together and embrace autonomy, transparency, and trust
- The opportunity to join an experienced and ambitious team passionate about solving customers' needs and who love what they do
- Partner with a community of 2000+ developers around the world, helping them focus on possibilities vs payments
Salary range: $165k - $185k based on experience, geography and other key factors
