Job description

The IT Refresh Technician will support enterprise device refresh initiatives and assist in reducing IT ticket backlog by handling refresh-related end-user support tasks. This role is focused exclusively on technology refresh activities and requires hands-on experience with workstation deployments, device replacements, and basic ticket resolution. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-user device refreshes, including laptop and desktop replacements
  • Set up, configure, and deploy new devices according to standard procedures
  • Migrate user data, settings, and applications during refresh events
  • Troubleshoot and resolve refresh-related support tickets
  • Assist in reducing IT ticket backlog related to device issues and refresh activities
  • Work directly with end users to schedule, deploy, and hand off refreshed equipment
  • Follow documented SOPs and refresh checklists to ensure consistent deployments
  • Update ticketing systems with accurate status notes and completion details
  • Support asset tracking, tagging, and inventory updates as required
  • Escalate issues outside refresh scope to appropriate support teams

Requirements

  • 3-5 + years of hands-on IT support or desktop support experience
  • Prior experience participating in device refresh or deployment projects
  • Working knowledge of Windows (10/11) and/or macOS environments
  • Experience using IT ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira, etc.)
  • Comfortable working through structured, repetitive refresh workflows
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple refresh tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience with imaging or deployment tools (SCCM, Intune, Autopilot, JAMF, MDT)
  • Basic knowledge of data migration tools or processes
  • Experience supporting high-volume refresh initiatives
  • Exposure to asset management or inventory systems

Work Environment

  • Primarily focused on device refresh and ticket backlog support
  • Hands-on, end-user facing role
  • May involve repetitive tasks and high device volumes
  • Minimal escalation beyond refresh-related issues
