Web Applications Developer

The Sacramento County Department of Technology is seeking a Senior Web Application Developer to support the Department of Child, Family and Adult Services (DCFAS). This role is responsible for modernizing application architecture while maintaining critical legacy systems. The developer will contribute to the design and development of key platforms including SMILE (Service Management and Information Link Engine), WISE (Workforce Information and Service Ecosystem), and the DCFAS public-facing portal., * Perform business analysis, system design, and full-stack application development

• Design and develop scalable web applications and APIs
• Build and maintain relational databases and optimize queries
• Develop server-side logic and front-end interfaces
• Conduct quality assurance testing and ensure application reliability
• Deploy releases and provide ongoing production support
• Maintain and enhance legacy systems while contributing to modernization initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Lead development efforts or contribute as part of a team depending on project scope

• Strong experience in full-stack web application development
• Proficiency in Microsoft technology stack including C#, .NET, and .NET Core
• Experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
• Front-end development expertise with Angular (v15+), TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery
• Strong database development skills using SQL Server and T-SQL
• Experience with version control tools such as Git and GitHub
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform
• Ability to handle both new development and legacy system support
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, * Experience working in Linux environments
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure or AWS)
• Knowledge or experience in AI/ML development, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
