Fast forward one year. Using your expertise in solution architecture, you've helped Kimball Electronics modernize and integrate enterprise systems across manufacturing sites worldwide. You've partnered closely with business and IT teams to translate complex requirements into reliable, secure, and scalable solutions that enable operational excellence, digital transformation, and future innovation., The Solutions Architect is a new role within Kimball Electronics Shared Services. This role leads the design and governance of application and integration solutions that support global manufacturing, supply chain, and enterprise operations. This role ensures that software solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business strategy. As part of the business transformation program team, the Solutions Architect works closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and other architects to deliver end-to-end solutions across ERP, MES, MDM, and custom platforms. This role is based at Kimball Electronics headquarters in Jasper, Indiana, with remote or hybrid options available and reports to the Enterprise Architect. Kimball Electronics has an international footprint, so this role requires the ability to work with different languages and cultures.

Key Performance Objectives

Short Term: (0 to 3 months)

  • Learn KEI culture, systems, and global processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with IT, business, and PMO team.
  • Become familiar with enterprise architecture standards, integration patterns, and governance processes.
  • Review existing application landscapes and solution designs.
  • Participate in deployment of SAP LeanIX to map current and future systems to a application landscape as part of the business transformation project.

Midterm: (3 to 6 months)

  • Design scalable, secure solution architectures across ERP, MES, MDM, and enterprise platforms.
  • Define integration strategies using API-first and event-driven approaches.
  • Partner with development teams to translate business requirements into solution designs.
  • Provide architectural review and guidance for enterprise initiatives.

Long Term: (6 to 12 months and beyond)

  • Lead modernization initiatives for legacy systems and cloud-native solutions.
  • Ensure solution alignment with enterprise architecture, data, and security standards.
  • Influence technology direction by balancing innovation, risk, and sustainability.
  • Support advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities through solution design.

Requirements

  • Strong experience designing enterprise application and integration architectures
  • Proficiency with cloud-native, hybrid, and distributed systems
  • Deep understanding of ERP, MES, MDM, and other systems integrations
  • Experience with API-first, service-oriented, and event-driven architectures
  • Ability to communicate complex technical designs to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to influence across teams without direct authority
  • Willingness to travel globally and work flexible hours as needed
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

The typical pay range for this role is: $86000-110000k
