Job description
We are seeking a skilled Installerto join our growing telecommunications team. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with hands-on installation experience who enjoys travel, solving technical issues, and working with cutting-edge network infrastructure. You'll support the installation, upgrades, and maintenance of telecom equipment while delivering high-quality service to customers.
Travel & Schedule
- Travel required: 50%-75%
- Overnight travel for 1-2 weeks at a time may be required
- Flexibility for early mornings, occasional evenings, and some weekends
What You'll Do
- Install, terminate, label, lace, and test fiber/copper cabling to industry standards
- Troubleshoot connectivity and perform continuity verification
- Mount and secure racks, frames, shelves, and related hardware
- Complete retrofits, upgrades, and infrastructure modifications
- Read and interpret drawings, plans, and job specifications
- Maintain job-site safety standards and proper PPE usage
- Track materials, document work performed, and complete time reporting
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
- Assist in training junior installers as needed
Requirements
- 2+ years of telecom, field service, or related installation experience
- Experience with fiber/copper cabling, terminations, rack installs, and grounding systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and installation documents
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using computers, tablets, and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical trade school, military electronics training, or equivalent
- Familiarity with telecom industry standards (Telcordia, AT&T, Verizon, etc.)
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly / 100 lbs occasionally
- Work on ladders, in confined spaces, and active job sites
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and tool usage, * telecom, field service, or related installation : 2 years (Required)
