Job description

The Senior Network Engineer is a key member of the IS&T infrastructure team, responsible for architecting and managing enterprise-level network systems. This role involves leading network design initiatives, troubleshooting advanced issues, and ensuring the security and reliability of all network operations. This is an onsite role that reports directly to the Director of IS&T at our Everett, WA office. Architect and deploy LAN/WAN, VPN, and cloud-based network solutions to support business needs Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement enhancements to improve speed and reliability Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls to safeguard network assets Resolve escalated network issues and provide Tier 3 support for complex problems Maintain detailed network diagrams, configuration records, and performance reports Lead network-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and integrations with other IT systems Work closely with system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and vendors to ensure seamless operations Train and mentor junior network engineers and contribute to team development

Requirements

8+ years of network engineering experience Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), network hardware (Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper), and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience with network security tools and protocols, including VPNs, firewalls, and NAC systems Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity planning experience CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certifications preferred
