Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated System Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for administering, supporting, and securing enterprise infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. The ideal candidate has strong Windows and Microsoft 365 administration skills, a security-first mindset, and a collaborative approach to supporting internal teams and development operations.
This is an on-site role that reports to the Director of IT., * Administer and support Windows Server and Windows 11 environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune, DNS, DHCP, file/print services, and vulnerability management.
- Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, including Entra ID, Security, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Purview, Teams.
- Monitor and maintain system health, security, and performance across servers, endpoints, and cloud services.
- Support identity, access, and endpoint security controls, including MFA, Conditional Access, and Microsoft security tooling.
- Administer vCenter/ESXi environments, including VM provisioning, resource management, and troubleshooting.
- Operate Veeam Backup and Replication.
- Manage and support the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, including monitoring alerts, investigating threats, and responding to endpoint security incidents.
- Execute patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening using tools such as PDQ Deploy, PDQ Inventory, and Action1.
- Install, configure, test, and support approved software applications
- Troubleshoot network and application connectivity issues using knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, OSI model, and tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Support FedRAMP and broader compliance efforts by maintaining technical controls, collecting audit evidence, and documenting operational procedures aligned to NIST 800-53, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
- Provide L2 internal support and serve as an escalation point for the service desk using Jira Service Management.
- Create and maintain system documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base content.
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python to improve efficiency., * This role requires on-call as an IAM incident responder. Occasional after-hours support for maintenance, patching as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of system administration experience in Windows environments.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including user/license management and core services.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience with VMware administration.
- Experience with Veeam backup and replication
- Experience with patching, vulnerability management, and IT security best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience with Crowdstrike
- Strong ownership mindset with a desire to learn and drive issues to completion.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to pass background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
· Managed and maintained Linux systems (Ubuntu, RHEL), including installation, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
· Assist with AWS administration and monitoring, primarily IAM.
- Service desk or escalation support experience.
- Experience with automation scripting.
- Mid-Senior level technical certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP and regulated/compliance-driven environments.
- Preferred: Ability to obtain or maintain clearance., * High school or equivalent (Required), * Network administration: 2 years (Required)
