Job description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct information system security engineering activities focusing on the lifecycle of current systems and future requirements.

  • Collect and process information security requirements and integrate them into information systems.

  • Work within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. Primary Functions:

  • Perform oversight of the development, implementation, and evaluation of security program policies.

  • Analyze network security based on the Risk Management Framework (RMF) with emphasis on JSIG authorization.

  • Provide expert support and consultation on complex information security problems.

  • Build Information Assurance (IA) into systems deployed in operational environments.

  • Assist architects and developers in identifying and implementing security functionality.

  • Assess and mitigate security threats/risks throughout the program lifecycle.

  • Lead a team of System Security Engineers and Analysts to protect national security interests.

  • Provide recommendations on cybersecurity software tools and develop product-specific STIGs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Review ISSE-related designs; provide compliance recommendations.
  • Develop IA risk management recommendations and assist with the Program Protection Plan.
  • Support customer and SAP community IA working groups and ISSE IPT reviews.
  • Work on security assessments and improve assessment accuracy and efficiency.
  • Write and execute cybersecurity test procedures for compliance validation.

Requirements

  • 17+ years of experience in relevant roles (ISSO, ISSM, SCA, SAP IT Technical Director).

  • 2+ years of SAP experience required. · Education: § Master's degree + 17 years of experience § Bachelor's degree + 21 years of experience § Associate's degree + 4 years of experience, OR § Equivalent experience (6 years).

  • IASA E Level II or IASAE III (CASP+ CE, CISSP, CSSLP).

  • TS with SCI eligibility. · Willingness to submit to a CI polygraph.

Technical Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of DoD, National security policies, and standards.
  • Proficient in platforms such as:
  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Active Directory
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Various virtualization technologies and security tools (e.g., SEIMs, ACAS/Nessus).
  • Experience in Patch/Configuration management, DevOps, and Tier 3 support.
