The Solutions Architect is a hybrid role combining technical design, estimating, and customer-facing sales responsibilities. This individual will focus on Federal and large commercial opportunities, taking ownership of the full pre-sales lifecycle-from reviewing solicitations and drawings to developing proposals and supporting deal closure., Technical & Engineering Support
- Review project plans, specifications, and solicitation documents (RFPs, RFQs, Sources Sought)
- Develop system designs, bill of materials (BOM), and technical solutions
- Perform takeoffs and cost estimations for large-scale security projects
- Support system architecture decisions across access control, video surveillance, and related technologies
- Collaborate with internal engineering resources as needed, while maintaining ownership of assigned opportunities
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Engage directly with customers to understand requirements and develop solutions
- Present technical solutions and proposals to clients and stakeholders
- Support negotiation and closing of opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with federal agencies, contractors, and commercial clients
- Participate in site walks, pre-bid meetings, and customer consultations
Proposal Development
- Lead the development of proposals, including scope of work, technical narratives, and pricing
- Ensure compliance with federal and commercial bid requirements
- Coordinate with internal teams to meet submission deadlines
- Contribute to proposal strategy, positioning, and win themes
Requirements
Do you have experience in Telecommunications low voltage systems?, This role requires both strong technical expertise in electronic security systems and the ability to operate in a client-facing, revenue-driven environment., Required:
- 5+ years of experience in electronic security systems (Access Control, CCTV/VMS, Intrusion, etc.)
- Experience with system design, estimating, or pre-sales engineering
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience working with RFPs/RFQs, particularly in federal or large commercial environments
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
Preferred:
- Experience with platforms such as Lenel, CCURE, AMAG, Avigilon, Milestone, or similar
- Familiarity with federal contracting environments (VA, DoD, GSA, etc.)
- Prior experience in a hybrid sales/engineering role
- Certifications or technical training in relevant systems
