The Workday Business Analyst (HR & Generalist) supports Workday HCM and HR-related processes while also functioning as a Business Analyst generalist within Information Technology. This role partners closely with HR and other business stakeholders to translate needs into clear requirements and deliver scalable, well-governed solutions.
The position emphasizes strong business analysis discipline, platform health, and cross-functional collaboration to support stable operations and continuous improvement., * Provide functional BA support for Workday HCM and related HR modules (e.g., Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Recruiting as applicable).
- Partner with HR stakeholders to analyze business processes and define requirements.
- Support Workday configuration changes, testing, release impact analysis, and production support.
- Elicit, document, and manage requirements for HR and other assigned initiatives.
- Produce BA deliverables such as user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Collaborate with developers, configurators, and integration teams to ensure build-ready requirements.
- Support UAT, defect triage, and change delivery aligned with IT governance standards., This position is primarily remote and is performed in a home-based office environment. The employee is expected to maintain a dedicated, secure, and reliable workspace that supports productivity and confidentiality. Work is conducted indoors in a climate-controlled setting with standard office lighting and equipment.
The role requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, headset, and other standard IT tools for extended periods. Employees must have reliable high-speed internet access and be available during established business hours, with flexibility to support system maintenance, releases, or critical incidents outside of normal hours as needed.
Collaboration occurs virtually through video conferencing, messaging platforms, and ticketing systems. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, training, go-live support, or business needs, though travel is expected to be minimal and infrequent.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Senior Professional in Human Resources certification?, Do you have experience in Workday?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field - required
- 3-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst required, Workday Analyst, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience supporting Workday HCM in a production environment, required.
- Solid understanding of HR business processes.
- Strong requirements elicitation and documentation skills.
- Experience working in an IT delivery model (Agile, hybrid, or SDLC).
- Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills., Workday HCM certification (active or prior) preferred.
- CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA preferred.
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP or PHR preferred.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools preferred., * HR stakeholders are well supported and appropriately challenged.
- Requirements are clear, actionable, and reduce rework.
- Solutions are delivered with attention to governance, data integrity, and long-term platform health., Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
