Job description

This role involves providing end-to-end middleware administration for online banking and eCommerce platforms. The position focuses on delivering enterprise projects, ensuring production stability, and maintaining platform security through patching and updates. The engineer will support daily operations, working with application and testing teams to provide middleware and Java support., * Provide administration for middleware application servers, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and production support.

  • Manage and execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases.
  • Ensure middleware platforms are patched with current software versions to manage risk.
  • Design middleware infrastructure and topology for high availability and failover.
  • Interface with internal customers and external vendors during the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Work in a 24/7 environment, including after-hours and weekend support.
  • Conduct production change management duties with precision.

Requirements

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field experience is required.

Experience: A minimum of five years of professional experience in Information Technology is required. This includes at least three years of experience supporting WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, IBM HTTP Server, Apache, and similar middleware products. Experience with J2EE at a large-scale enterprise level is necessary.

Technical Skills:

  • Administration of WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, IBM HTTP Server, Tomcat, and Apache.
  • Scripting knowledge in Shell, Jython, and Perl.
  • Experience with Bladelogic, AppDynamics, and DynaTrace toolsets.
  • Knowledge of Java/Container frameworks and Ansible.
  • Understanding of web application communication protocols (SOAP, HTTP, XML).
  • Knowledge of core network services (DNS, SMTP, NTP, syslog, HTTP).
  • Experience troubleshooting Linux application issues.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure and performance tools such as Netcool, ITM, Splunk, and SiteScope.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with BMC Remedy ITSM tools.
  • Proficiency with IBM WebSphere Portal.
