Our client is a global enterprise organization seeking a Senior Linux Cloud Storage Engineer / Architect to join their infrastructure team in Charlotte, NC. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a highly technical engineer with expertise in Red Hat Linux, Oracle Linux/OLVM, VMware, Azure hybrid cloud, enterprise storage, and HPE Synergy composable infrastructure. The role is focused on architecture, engineering, and platform modernization in a large-scale production environment currently supporting 600+ virtual machines with plans to scale significantly.
This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact technical leadership role where you will influence enterprise platform strategy across Linux, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure. The organization is looking for a senior-level engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, modernizing enterprise environments, and mentoring other engineers. This role offers strong exposure to large-scale infrastructure growth, hybrid cloud initiatives, automation, and the opportunity to evolve into leadership or SME responsibilities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience
- Deep expertise in Red Hat Linux 8/9 and Oracle Linux / OLVM
- Experience with VMware, virtualization, and large-scale virtual environments
- Strong storage background including SAN, NAS, and software-defined storage
- Experience with Azure hybrid cloud environments
- Knowledge of HPE Synergy / composable infrastructure
- Hands-on automation experience with Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Strong architecture and design experience (engineering focused, not administration)
