Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Specialist to join our Launch Infrastructure Development construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust project controls systems to monitor cost, schedule, and performance metrics for this critical aerospace facility. You will work closely with construction managers, engineers, and contractors to track progress, identify trends, forecast outcomes, and provide data-driven insights that enable proactive decision-making throughout the construction lifecycle., * Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive project controls systems for schedule and cost management
- Create and update integrated master schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software
- Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and opportunities
- Track actual costs against budgets and provide regular variance analyses
- Develop earned value metrics and reporting systems tailored to launch facility construction
- Forecast cost and schedule trends, providing early warning of potential deviations
- Validate contractor progress claims and payment applications
- Prepare comprehensive monthly project status reports for executive management
- Support change management processes with impact analyses and documentation
- Facilitate schedule risk assessments and quantitative risk analyses
- Coordinate with procurement and contracts teams to integrate supply chain milestones

- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
- Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
Requirements
- 10+ years of project controls experience with at least 5 years in complex construction projects
- Demonstrated expertise with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and cost control systems
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequences
- Experience with earned value management systems and performance metrics
- Proven ability to analyze complex datasets and provide actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly present technical information
- Experience supporting large capital projects (>$50M)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for complex data analysis, * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business
- Industry certifications such as PMP, PSP, EVP, or CCP
- Experience with aerospace, defense, or industrial construction projects
- Knowledge of government contracting and reporting requirements
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, CMiC)
- Background in risk management and quantitative risk analysis
- Experience with Oracle Unifier, Power BI, or similar advanced reporting tools
- Prior work on projects with complex regulatory and compliance requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based work with occasional field visits
- Ability to access construction sites when necessary
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during site visits
- May require extended computer use for data analysis and reporting
