Job description

  • Set up and maintain smart devices and STEM/STEAM equipment for educational programs.

  • Collaborate with the education programs team to meet delivery schedules and program needs.

  • Coordinate the delivery and retrieval of equipment to and from partner organizations.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for deployed devices.

  • Provide hands-on assistance during in-person demonstrations.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy and assist in inventory management.

  • Document setup procedures and maintain detailed records of equipment deployment.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time position requiring approximately 8-20 hours per week across two weekdays (within usual business hours). Flexibility in scheduling based on program needs is a plus. Occasional evening or weekend work may be requested for equipment setup or special events.

Work Location: 50% on-site at our offices in Durham and 50% on the road and at partner sites as assigned. Company vehicle provided for deliveries.

Requirements

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Part-Time EdTech Support and Fulfillment Specialist for our STEAM Education program, which provides learning resources for schools and youth organizations in eastern North Carolina.

This role involves the setup, maintenance, and delivery of smart devices and STEM/STEAM equipment to partner organizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for supporting educational initiatives.

This position requires availability during standard business hours for two weekdays each week., * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and gSuite for documentation and communication.

  • Minimum one year of experience in technical support or a related field.

  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.

  • Valid NC driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate total understanding of confidentiality, non-disclosure, discretion, and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an educational or nonprofit setting.

  • Familiarity with educational technology and STEM/STEAM equipment.

  • Knowledge of basic networking and troubleshooting principles.

  • Passion for education, STEM/STEAM, and supporting educational initiatives.

  • Certification in relevant technical areas is a plus.
